Many would say that Kansas City’s professional sports run of the last decade is “unprecedented”. What Sporting KC, the Royals, and the Chiefs have accomplished has made this the golden era of Kansas City sports. But, it is not without precedent. New Kid on the Block
This past summer, I was bombarded with messages from friends that there was a new spot I had to try. Apparently, the word is out that I enjoy Kansas City BBQ. Last Friday, I finally had a chance to drop into Chef J BBQ and see why this pandemic pop-up turned West Bottoms mainstay has generated such buzz in a time when fewer people than ever are dining out.

FCS: BBQ Sides
Fountain City Superlatives (FCS) represent the best that Kansas City has to offer in a given category. Previously I awarded my best in show for smoked meats and now we move on to the equally important other half of a BBQ meal - the sides.
