Manhattan Knight

As Grand Boulevard re-opens after another successful Big XII Basketball Tournament, I think back on my first year as a fan of a Big XII school. As a passionate UCF fan, the addition of the Knights to the conference gave me a number of opportunities to support my team this year, including a memorable day in Manhattan, Kansas. These were some of the highlights.

Q in the Lou

Sandwiched between Kansas City and Memphis, St. Louis often struggles to stand out nationally from the styles of either. And even though St. Louis’ greatest landmark encourages all who see it to head west to the World Capital of BBQ, that does not mean their scene should be overlooked. After an incredible night in Idaho Falls, we had a memorable breakfast and then made our way to Grand Teton National Park where the beautiful hiking trails and ample wildlife viewing opportunities made this one of my favorite parks I have visited.

A Walk In The Parks, Pt. I

Since the summer of 2019, my brother Connor and I have embarked on a trip every June to explore a new National Park. With Southwest opening up flights to Bozeman, MT earlier this year, we knew it was finally time to cross Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons off our list. But first, we had to make an 86 mile detour in the hopes of meeting a Kansas City legend - a man that true Royals’ fans know as “Country Breakfast”.

Sing The Queen City

In the aftermath of COVID-19, I could not wait to travel again! As a baseball fan with the obvious goal of visiting every Major League Baseball stadium, one had always evaded me - Great American Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds. Prepared to fly for the first time in 16 months, I had no doubts where my first trip would be. While I came for the baseball and chili, I found in the Queen City an absolute gem of a city that more people should be talking about.
